Question:
Sagging skin on face stare

I am 8 months post op and nearly at goal. I have lost over 90lbs. and am 45 years old. My only complaint is that the skin in my face is looking very saggy. Not wrinkled or lines just sort of looks like the skin is melting down my face. Maybe I am just needing to adjust to a skinny face and not those full fat cheeks. Has anyone else experienced this and does it get better over time?    — Charlene W. (posted on November 8, 2003)

I find that weight loss shows up on the face first. Most people I know, it eventually evens out. I'm not sure why.

I know exactly what you mean. I am 9 months post op and have surpassed my goal by a few lbs. I would say that the last 10-15 lbs was when I really noticed the negative changes in my face. Prior to that it was slimmer and I felt I looked better. I have read thought the the faces do fill out eventually and I hope that happens. I'm anxious to hear what other responses that you get to this question so I might have a better idea what's in store for me.

Don't you hate that? It does improve, but didn't completely go away. My jowls still look "melty" after 2 plus years.

The good news is that yes, it does tighten up. The bad news is that it takes a couple years, providing you've been well nourished, of course. Protein, vites, dry vit E, etc. Butt Be Back & Face Be Back are usually going on about year 3. I know, you want it all by your first anniversary. Back in the olden days, I had NO hope. Dog jowls and ruffles on my butt. But it did get better.

I HOPE IT GETS BETTER BUT I AM LIKE A FORMER POSTER I AM SAVING FOR THE LIFT TOO. AFTER 142 POUNDS GONE IN 12 MONTHS I LOOK OLDER THAN I DID BEFORE I LOST, BUT THEN AGAIN I AM 49 NOW TOO SO I AM SURE THAT DOESNT HELP. I FEEL YOUNG SO I JUST WANT TOLOOK IT.

I have lost 156 lbs since my surgery on Dec 4th of ast year, (coming up on my anniversary son....) And I don't have any saggy skin on my face BUT I do on my neck and it makes me self consious.....This was a subject of our recent monthly support group...and it was brought up by a lady who had lost over 300 lbs and miraculously has NO saggy skin on face, neck, or arms that she takes DAILY Omega-3 tablets after being reffered to do so by another weight loss person who had experienced saggy skin and suddenly began to appear to lose this saggy skin without benefit of surgery. This lady told her she read an article about the benefits of Omega-3 and went immed to a vitamin store and bought some and started taking them immed, within 6 weeks her skin started to get more supple and eventually a whole lot tighter. So you can imagine how many of us are rushing to the vitamin store and I can't wait to see how they work.. It was also mentioned at the same meeting That Avon, (and I am not an avon lover, mind you, in fact haven't bought anything from them in years) but they have a new collagen creme that seems to be working miracles with everybody who buys it, it puts elasticity back into your skin and adds collage which we need both of these things for what????? to stop saggy skin. Well I hope this helps a little all I can say is I have seen the results from these 4 ladies and I like the results. Take Care Cinde
