Question:
7 mo's post op - feels like something is stuck in my eshophagus
Hey all, i am 7 months post op and woke up this morning with the feeling of something being stuck part way down my eshophagus (around the bottom of my sternum), you know like when you swallow something and it gets stuck part way down. The strange thing is that it wasn't there last night when I went to bed. This morning I've drank about 6 ounces of water and taken my iron and vit C and it only seems to be worse now (almost slightly churning)...I almost hate to try protien or breakfast. It is not painful, just a strange pressure sensation. Does anyone have any idea what this could be from? Thanks! — eaamc (posted on September 3, 2003)

I have the same issue, but I am only 1 1/2 months out. The surgeon thought
it might be a partial stricture. I am going for a scope next week and he
put me on protonics and regulan to help the stomach empty faster in the
meantime. The stricture is when scar tissue surrounding the area where the
stomach dumps into the intestines is smaller than the desired opening. I
hope this helps a little. I also heard that a little meat tenderizer mixed
with water will help. My main advice would be to call the surgeons office
and go in. You just never know for sure. I hate the stuck feeling tho...its
like I cant breath at times, but with no vomiting. Strange. Good Luck
