Phyllis, If you are already on disability and have Medicare you do not
have to have prior approval, you only have to find a surgeon that will wait
for the payment if it is deemed medically necessary. As for Medicaid that
varies state-by-state and your local office can advise you on those
benefits. I have also seenn other postings where it was suggested that
maybe vocational rehab may help. Hope this has been of some assistance and
good luck.

Medicare pays for the surgery according to my doc, because he performed my
surgery prior to receiving approval. Also others have had their surgery
approved as long as it is considered a medical need to improve or sustain
life.

Being on disability you get Medicare and with Medicare there is no pre
authorization needed. You just need to find a doctor that will take
Medicare. I wish you luck.
