Question:
I am scheduled for lap rny Sept 15 - I can hardly wait. I am hoping my expectations

are not to high. I am 5ft tall and weigh in at 215. Is anyone out there with similar stats that could tell me how fast there weight loss was. I remember my DR saying that because I am not that big it might be a slower proccess for me? I am hoping to be down 50 lbs by Christmas - is this a realistic goal?    — Calynn A. Hi there! Congrats on your surgery date! I, too, was considered a "light weight". Don't you just HATE that term? Any-hoo, I'm 5'1" and started out at 241 lbs. Surgery on 12/2/02, I'm down 80 lbs, to 161. So, I've basically lost 10 lbs a month, on average. You desire to lose 50 by the end of the year may be a bit ambitious, but - hey - go for it. You never know. Just remember that you'll be losing pounds you'll never EVER have to deal with again. Ain't that grand? Best of everything.

hiya~ i was 268lbs at 5'1/4"; had my surgery june 14 2001 and was down 80lbs by december (of course then i hit my first plateau for like 6 weeks didn't lose anything!). i had lost around 40+ at 10 weeks post op so you may be close to that 50lbs by christmas. do what you are supposed to do - eat right, get in all your protein & water and exercise... good luck! kate

Hello. I'm 4'10" and weighed 235 on my surgery day (5/5/03). Since then I have lost 45lbs. I think it will be quite possible for you to do 50lbs. by December. If you set that "goal", it may help you keep on track on days when you don't feel like it. All the best!
