Question:
Has anyone being open for RNY, and being close without it....
I asked this question before, but I guess, I can't still beleived it, my surgery couldn't be performed, because of scar tissue, the doctor open and close without performing the surgery, he said that even banding was imposible, I am still very sad, has anyone had a simmilar problem?.... — Rosa M. I dont know how much scar tissue you had but I have had 6 prior surgeries
before my open RNY.. the only thing my surgeon said is they might have to
take my spleen because of the scar tissue but in the end they didnt have to
thank the good lord.. I would try to find another surgeon and see what he
thinks..

Rosa, I'm so sorry you had to go through that. But, I have to say that
this surgeon doesn't sound very experienced at all, and certainly sounds
like he doesn't wants to be bothered with anything other than the easiest
cases. But, this may be a blessing in disguise. Imagine if he performed
the surgery, and you had some other complication...I doubt he would even
know what to do. Find yourself another surgeon, someone who's done
thousands of these surgeries. It just doesn't sound right to me. Good
luck, sweetie.

I agree I think you should get a second opinion, and try to find a very
experienced surgeon who has dealt with things like that!

Hi Rosa, I also think you should get a second or even third opinion. There
are many surgeons here in Houston. I also went through Neweigh, but they
are not the only group in town. I would try the UT group, Dr. Scarborough
or maybe Wongsa or Naaman. I don't have personal experience with these
dr.'s but I just wanted to let you know there are other options beside the
dr.'s at Neweigh. Good Luck.
