Question:
I was wondering if anyone out there is familiar with
Pseudotumor Cerebri, and was wondering if anyone out there has the condition and is either considering WLS or has already had it, and what was the outcome? — Julie P. (posted on May 24, 2003)

Did you check the library? I know that this problem has been mentioned
before and I would suspect there are a lot of good answers there. Shelley

Julie, I don't have it, but many doctors thought I did for a while, so I do
know some info about it. Definately check out the archives for this, there
are some good posts on it from WLS members who have it. Also, I have read
about some studies that show conditions improve significantly and/or
eventually completely resolved for something like 85-95% of pseudotumor
patients who have WLS. Definately something to consider! :-)

Julie,
There is a young woman in Hawaii named Kathleen Jones who had it prior to
WLS. She had her surgery in August and I believe she is symptom free now.
She was in terrible shape when she had her surgery - about to go blind -
and is doing great. If you go to find a peer and click on Hawaii, you can
probably find her. I'm sure she wouldn't mind you emailing her and she
would be glad to give you any information.

I had it before surgery, but now 14 months out I don't have any symptoms of
it at all. Tonjia -131
