Question:
Wondering about fitting on rides at King's Island in Cincinnati
I am planning on going to King's Island in Cincinnati, OH in a couple of weeks. I weigh 263 and am 5'8"(down from 352). I am pear shaped, with a "big ol' butt!" My upper body is relatively small.I so want to fit on the roller coasters (especially The Beast!!) since I have been unable to in about 10 years. Anyone out there with my same body type and weight have any experiences to share? My pants size is a 22/24 and shirt size 1X. Thanks so much!! Alli RNY 1/2/03 — Allison B. (posted on May 20, 2003)

My starting weight was 220 lbs, but I am only 5 foot tall. I was wearing
an snuggly fitting into 18-22 size pants (depending on the brand) and 1x-2x
shirt size. I was able to fit onto the beast. Some rides were a little
tighter on my legs (when the bars came down) then what I would have liked,
but it was still okay to ride. Hope all goes well for you. Enjoy! I love
Kings Island!

When I went to Kings Island several years ago I was 5'4" and weighed
250. I was sitting with a person of normal size and fit fine. A little snug
but fine. It will be the ride of your life. I think they have added a new
coaster too called Son of Beast. Be prepared for some really long lines
though. We waited 1 1/2 hours to ride the Beast. Have fun.

The last time I was at King's Island I weighed about 240 lbs., and I was
5'6". I have always been a little big in the behind too. I fit on
all the rides when I went. Like one of the previous posters said, the leg
area was the snug part. I was worried for nothing. I had fun, but I spent
to much time wondering what I would do if I got to the front of the line
and didn't fit on a ride. I worried for no reason. Good luck and have
fun!!!

Hi Allison- I had the same question at the 6 flags amusement park in Mass.
While my family and I were waiting in the L-O-N-G lines, I would watch who
was exiting the ride and see if they were anywhere near my size, to know if
I would have a chance of fitting. I think the statistics say that about
50% of adults are obese, so there are bound to be some large persons
interested in the same rides. From the size of the riders, I decided not
to attempt one particular roller coaster, but another one had many larger
people exiting, and I had a blast. Have a great time:o)Mea
