Question:
THROWING UP FOAM, THATS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHY I DID THIS? YESTURDAY I ATE EASTER DINNER TOO FAST AND FOR 5 HOURS EVERY 30-45 MIN UTES I WOULD THROW UP FOAM. WHEREAS USUALLY IF I EAT TOO FAST ILL THROW IT BACK UP AND THATS IT.    — Karen W. (posted on April 21, 2003)

I have this same thing happen to me. I think that it's basically you overate so much and it's just sitting there, so everytime you swallow your saliva it kinda collects, and every once in a while like every 30 min or so, it gets to be too much and you need to spit/vomit it up. that's my theory on the foam-vomit! Nothing helps it, especially water, that makes it worse. I just stop eating/drinking until my pouch empties and then you'll be fine! :)

Foam means stuck. I stick my finger down to get rid, sip some water and do it again to get it all. Gross I know, but works.

Sounds more like "stuck" to me than "too much." I spent 5 hours foaming and puking (sorry!) on Easter due to 1 lousy shrimp...Finally tea worked...search in library for "stuck food" and find more answers. Fun! Fun! Fun! At least we know our "tool" is working!

I have the FOAM when I eat one bite to much. I'm almost two years out and sometimes I still push it, however usually when it happens I just did'nt get the full signal soon enough. When this happens, I find it better (if I can discretly) to go and throw up slightly to release the pressure. Not my whole meal, just a "tad" to stop the pressure.

Foam and saliva are all that I ever throw up (except for once, when I had two grape tomatoes which went down and came right back up immediately!). I had RNY on 2/21/02 and the first three or four months when I vomited frequently it was the same and when I had gall bladder attacks (September 02, February and March 03, it was still just foam and saliva. Vomiting now (for me) is entirely different from pre-surgery vomiting and nowhere near as bad. Nina in Maine
