Question:
I failed, the sleep study test, How much this will cost me? (Humana PPO)
I am upset, because I couldn't cheat the computers for the sleep study, but I know I couldn't sleep anything. My husband had to ask for a day off at his job to take me because it was kind of far, and I am very disoriented. I couldn't sleep, they told me not totake anything, and also I have GERD, and a hiatal hernia so I have to sleep with a lot of pillows, they only gave me one. I couldn't move because of the wires, and the guy that made the test, was so nice, that I felt shy to know that he was looking at me trough the camara, anyway it was horrible. I also heard that it's going to be very expensive, because I have Humana ppo...Please, some advice, How much did you guys had to pay.......Thank you and God Bless you all. — Rosa M. first, you didn't "fail" the sleep study. call the place where
you had the sleep study and ask how much it cost. then call your insurance
company and find out how much they pay and whether the clinic will accept
the insurance company's figure as full payment. in future, get the cost and
how much insurance pays BEFORE you have ANY medical tests so you don't get
yourself upset like now. A little planning and research go a long way in
reducing the uncertainty inherent in medical procedures.

Rosa - I just wanted to say that you have my complete sympathy! I have not
had a sleep study, but I feel certain it would be 8 hours of them watching
me humming and tapping my fingers. There's no WAY I could sleep. It's
common for me to be too anxious to sleep, in my own bed in my own house.
Much less a lab. I hope it doesn't cost you too much. Good luck.

You and I have a lot of the same problems (Gerd, hiatal hernia & sleep
apnea). Take a look at my profile & you will see what all I have been
through with this. I have United Health Care and my sleep study cost
$1000, however my insurance covered the whole thing, so I am not
responsible for anything on this. Each insurance company is different. I
would call your insurance and find out how much you are going to have to
pay out of pocket.
