Question:
I am an esoteric healer. I am concerned about the disruptions of the chackras.

Has anyone had experience with the interactions of bariatric surgery and esoteric philosophies? — Marcia A. (posted on January 27, 2003)

I know VERY little about this but what an interesting question to ask! I can't wait to hear an answer from someone who is knowledgable on this subject.

Marcia - I am not sure why you think there would be a problem. The energy centers would be the same as before surgery. In fact, chakra meditation should be an excelllent adjunct to tradition medical post-op, not to mention the benfits if used to prepare oneself before surgery. -Lori (RNY 6/20/02, 308/213)

I use crystals to keep my chakras in balance. I feel my chakras are healthier than ever because they aren't having to focus on the imbalance my weight and everything that went with it caused. I had surgery Feb '02 and have lost 119 pounds. I used crystals and chakra meditation immediately after surgery and believe it helped me heal much faster.

chakra...schmakra......not to worry. All the mineral fetishism in the world won't help but meditation is a different story.

Mr. Stark - eveyone has a right to their own belief system and spiritual practice. No different than having a favorite protein drink or type of WLS, which IS, by the way what we are here to discuss. Please don't disparage another person's spiritual preferences.

have you tried plain fat free/low sugar yogurt w/frozen strawberries or whatever fruit you like in a blender. I have eaten this before and it tastes great and should be lower in sugar. Good luck.
