Question:
Denied surgery for reasons other than insurance?
Just wondering if anyone has been denied surgery for health reasons and what those reasons were. -- Wendy — Wendy G. (posted on January 12, 2003)

Fortunately it didnt affect me. Some reasons for no surgery. Active drug or
alcohol abuse, or too ill to survive surgery. Like serious cardiac failure.
Hanibal lecter multi personal;ity disorders is another. Most health
problems can be managed and surgery safely performed. Many health problems
disappear as the weight leaves. If your high risk you might have to shop
around for a surgeon. Some prefer a low death rate and refuse high risk
patients. My surgeons heaviest patient was over a 1000 pounds. What
specifically are you concerned about?

Looking at your profile I think your co morbidities will help with
insurance approval. I believe others here have had MS and had WLS. Relax
everyone is a individual but no show stoppers I could see. BTW depression
is NORMAL in MOs.
