Question:
I am scheduled for surgery Jan 20, 2003 and I have recently found out I have hyplori.
I was wondering after the 14 day antibotic treatment, How will the doctor check to see if I still have it. Will he perform another endoscopy and does it usually take the antibotics to clear up the infection? My main concern is will I have to reschedule my surgery date? My doctor seems to think everything will still go as scheduled. — charlyce B. (posted on December 25, 2002)

I had the same thing happen. All they did was give me antibiotics and a
prescription for prilosec for 14 days. No delay and surgery went on as
scheduled.

I also had H Pylori. There was a simple proceedure of blowing up a ballon
that they can check to see if your still positive. This test was done in
Nuclear Medicine here. My surgery was a go when it showed up negative.
