During my pre-op testing I was asked about my medical history (Meds,
Ailments, surgeries, etc). They drew blood. I gave a urine specimen. I had
an EKG. They took measurement. I also had two X-rays. Piece of cake
(sugar-free of course). Hope this helps.

I have my preop testing tomorrow also. I got a schedule of my testing. I
cant have anything to eat or drink after midnight. abdomenal ultrasound,
Chest x-ray, upper GI Double contrast, A nurses assesment, EKG, Pulmonary
testing, cardiac testing. It is going to to take about 6 hours. I have had
some of these done already, all that I have had done so far are painless
but I have heard that the test for blood gas can be painful, It was
painless for me though.

I had my pre-op testing last week. it went like this:
blood drawn, ekg, ultrasound, chest x-ray, pulmonary function, blood gases
tested, and meeting with doctor and nutritionist. It wasn't bad at all. I
was lucky enough to have my best friend come with me and sit around for
hours
:-)
Good luck!

I think it must depend on your surgeon and your own medical conditions.
Since I'm relatively healthy, all I had was a medical questionaire, a few
minutes with the anesthesiologist and blood draw for CBC and liver
function, that's it! good luck
