Question:
Why are we NOT supposed to have caffiene now?
I know that it's not even good for us before surgery, but why is it so bad for us now? — Shelley P. (posted on November 13, 2002)

it has a diuretic effect, and can lead to some level of dehydration. In
addition, it is an appetite stimulant.

As for me, I just prefer not to have caffeine now...I don't remember being
told not to have it. I just figure I want to focus on making great choices
(okay..some are only "good" choices) and I think caffeine is
probably a "not-so-good" one............just my two cents.

Caffeine is a dehydrator. For every beverage you drink with caffeine,
you'll need to drink an equal amount of decaffeinated beverage. To
me...that's way too much drinking!! I have a hard enough time sucking down
the required water. ;-)
