I am two weeks post op and last week I just finished my "Clear
Fluids" stage. My "bible" as my doctor calls it, called for
me to drink approx 1 ounce of fluids every 15 minutes(sipping). I too felt
like I was drinking all day. I had broth and S/F Jello in the am, the same
for lunch and dinner. However, I kept juice and crystal light by my bed. I
found that I had a funky taste in my mouth and I was drinking alot to get
it out of my mouth. I also used S/F popsicles. My diet the first week
didn't call for protein at all. I just started the shakes this week and it
has been difficult to get a whole one down. I tried to do it in the am.
Also I thinned my soups second week with skim milk. Hope this helps.

Sort out your priorities. Protein drinks come first, then water, then
"toys". It's much easier when you can prioritize. We did not
milk products at all, so that one was out. Clear only for 4 weeks, but we
start protein drinks (made with water or s/f "juice") at the
first week. I also felt like I was putting something in my face constantly.
But life did level out after awhile and this way is MUCH easier than the
way I lived pre-op. It's just a different rhythm, so you have to work with
it awhile to get the hang of it.
