Question:
Has anyone found a lump in the groin proir to surgery?

I have a peach sized lump in the left groin. I saw the surgeon and he's goin g to biopsy it roght before surgery. If it tests positive for cancer the bypass is off. Has anyone experienced this before?    — Elizabeth P. (posted on June 9, 2002)

Your surgeon didn't think it was an inguinal hernia? That would usually the be most likely cause of a large lump in that area. Is it painful? Can you flatten it out by applying pressure? If you can't flatten it, and it does turn out to be a hernia, it may need immediate surgical repair. Good luck with everything.
