Question:
Is it wise to mention that I had liposuction in the past??
When I was in my twenties and exercised 3-4x a week, I had lipo to reduce my hips & abdomen. I didn't do it for weight loss (I didn't lose any), I just was fed up with working out so hard and not getting rid of the lovely pear shape God blessed me with. Of course, this was when I was young & dumb, and never thought I would have children & gain 100lbs! Should I mention it? Or would they figure it out on their own (scars, etc)??? — Annette H. Don't worry about mentioning it. Once you lose all your weight then you
will see the benefits of your old Lipo operation again. I had Lipo on my
stomach and thighs. Of course, I told my WLS doctor and he didn't even
blink like it wasn't important but should be a sign that you care about
your weight.<----I am guessing.

I had bi-lateral masectomy with assisted liposuction to flatten my chest.
Breast on a man was humiliating. I had the procedure when I felt my weight
was not increasing. I used the "wasn't asked, didn't tell" idea
during the insurance process so I wouldn't appear as though I was having
WLS for cosmetic or vanity reasons. However when I had my consult or was
ever asked if I had any surgery, I was honest about my history. Especially
when asked by the anesthesiologist, one should correctly answer all
questions. Best wishes.

you have to mention all surgical procedures to your seurgon so that they
can do the best for you...even ones that we may not be so proud of

It is of the upmost importance that you tell you doctors everything you
have done. Everything you take med wise. There is nothing to be affraid of
unless you are not truthfull. All of us have to tip a bottle now and then
to get the grey out if you know what i mean. I had it, and i was up front
that i waisted money on something i turned around and gained all back and
then some. But, one thing is for certain i would do it again. It kept my
sizing in prosepective. I hope you feel comfortable enought to tell you
doc this. Hope this helps.

You need to tell your doctor everything, something that might not seem
important to you may be very important to your doctor. Good Luck and God
Bless.
