Question:
I have this bump on my leg
I Have this bump on my leg ok it is on my upper thigh in the crease, in the front (If you were to put you hands on your upper thigh near the crease in the front that is where I am talking about) I got this bump on it all most looks like one of those zits that grow bigger them MT St Helens before it erupts, any ways I found it last night ( i actually hit it as I was putting on powder) and it hurts but the thing is when I squeezed it a bit(I thought it was an ingrown hair) it bled Dark Dark blood and kept bleeding Last night I slept with a paper towel wadded up there (Yep I am that Obese) and since this area is covered by my Apron of skin it cant get the air. I have swabbed it with Alcohol a few times but it is still oozing with the dark blood from time to time. I stood on a chair and looked in the mirror to see if it was a pimple or something and it looks like a boil but I have never had one ooze before UGH Please advise.. Thanks Christina — Christina B. Yep, sounds like a boil to me or possibly an ingrown hair. Try keeping hot
compresses on it to bring it to a head. You may have to go to the Dr. and
have it lanced (painless, but gross) and packed if it is big enough. Also,
sometimes they can be treated with antibiotics like Erythromiacin. Good
Luck...They Hurt!

I have had dozens of these over the years and they are gross to say the
least, mine were from sweat glands becoming infected, I even had to have
surgery to have some sweat glands removed.
you say it is draining, that is a good thing, and keep encouarging it to
drain, ( a little squeeze) the pain comes from the infection building up
and needing to be released.
If you can, get those extra wide bandaids and put some antibotic cream on
it and cover.
I feel for you, I know they hurt

Sounds like HS to me. I have PCOS, and we tend to get them a lot..... even
now that I am thinner. There have been other recent posts about people with
the same condition- try doing a search in the database for HS.. but spell
it out.

Thank you so much for posting this question and for all the people who
answered. I get these things something awful on my belly where my pants
"sit". They get so nasty with the dark blood and such. I have
developed a bad habit of agrivating them and I have one that I absolutely
cannot get to go away. I have tried everything I have been too embarrassed
to see a Dr. about them. At least now I can put a name with it.
Thanks

Although I don't have any experience with these, I want to remind you of
the importance of getting these documented by your MD. This simple step
could be the difference between approval and denial by your insurance.
(either for the WLS or for any follow-up plastic surgery). Don't be afraid
or embarrassed to "bother" your doctor. Make an appointment--this
is really important! Shelley

There are three questions on this subject in the database- all are very
informative!
