RYN OR LAP BAND --WHICH IS BEST??????????

MY DOCTOR WANTS ME TO DISCUSS LAP-BAND SURGERY INSTEAD OF OPEN RYN...I'M WANTING THE OPEN RYN DUE TO THE FACT OF SUBSTANTIAL WEIGHT LOSS IN SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME...I DON'T KNOW ANYONE THAT HAS HAD LAP-BAND...EVERYONE I KNOW HAS HAD THE OPEN RYN WITH GREAT RESULTS!!!!!!    — wvfootballfan (posted on May 20, 2002)

The website the previous poster mentioned compares the VBG to the RNY and DS. It should be a comparison of the ABG. Check out the library section here and check the surgery types. Then check out bandsters.com for more info about the ABG. Good luck!
