Hi Linda ~ unfortunately no one can answer that question for you. It varies from surgeon to surgeon, hospital to hospital. Your insurance company may also play a role. I went ot two surgeons. For the first one, it would have been anywhere from 5 8 months depending on which hospital I selected. With my second surgeon, the one I ended up going with, I waited a little over 2 1/2 months. Some folks wait less, some, far longer. Call your surgeons office and they should be able to give you an idea. Best wishes on your journey!

I had done all the insurance homework before my initial consult and that appointment was on March 19, 2002. I was approved by BC/BS (Anthem) on March 27, and got a surgery date for May 16, 2002. It just depends on a lot of factors. Good luck!

Initial consult Feb.1. Scheduling called on April 29. Date is June 10.
