Question:
If I was a heavy drinker at one time, should I be afraid to have this surgery?

I would definitely have the hospital run a liver function test, just in case you've done any permanent damage.

Hi, Well let me share that I just celebrated 14 years Clean and Sober Jan 25. I had my surgery Last year Jan 15, 2001, I had no problems, I did tell my doctor my alcohol and drug history so they will know up front just in case something went wrong they would know what drugs to put me on. but my surgery was a sucess with no complications at all.
