I don't think it your body shape has anything to do with
how fast or slow your weight loss will be. I think before
any of us get weight loss surgery we are GRAPEFRUITS. I haven't
heard of anyone not losing weight,
but I have heard of those who lost weight and then sabbatoged
themselves and gained it back. Some people may think their
weightloss is slow, but it WILL come off...just be patient.

I agree. It really doesn't matter what shape you are, you will lose weight
if you listen to your doctor and try to do everything that is told to you
for your success. It all depends on you. Your weight loss will vary at
times. I am a slow loser, but it has been steady since my surgery in
October. i wish it was faster, but I am thankful for any weight loss, no
matter how small. There are times when I know I have a eaten a little more
than I should, but I am still human...I get back on track and become more
aware of my portions (measuring) and limit my snacking. I know that the
weight will come off, even if it is not as fast as I would like it to. Do
your walking, or whatever other exercise you have chosen, and you will be
healthy and slim in no time. Keep the faith!!!

Yeah, we're really comparing oranges to oranges here (pun intended). Body
shape doesn't affect your loss rate. However it DOES affect the inches you
lose and the time in which you lose it. Apples tend to lose to become an
hourglass -- losing the waist mostly then the other parts at equal rates.
Pears tend to stick to the pear shape when losing -- losing the top first,
with a slower loss of inches on the bottom. But the bottom does begin to
catch up. I'm a pear and at 6 months am a size 16/18 on top with a size 20
bottom. I started at size 26/28 on top and bottom. But I liked my tops
roomy and my bottoms were getting tight. Anyway, I am now noticing at -94
pounds that my size 20s are starting to get loose! Hurray!!! I don't
think I will need a tummy tuck, but the bat wings and thighs would allow me
to take flight if a strong wind came along! Good luck and God bless (and
quit looking for things to worry about! You'll do fine!)
