Question:
2 1/2 weeks post-op is 1/2 cup too much?
I am 2 1/2 weeks post-op and I can eat 1/2 cup of chicken (aprox. 1.5 oz) is this too much? — spatricknm (posted on November 28, 2001)

I don't think it's too much. I was told to eat 3 40z meals a day. Is your
chicken pureed? How do you feel after you eat it? IF you feel fine, then
I think it's fine. My body pretty much tells me if I step over any bounds!

I doubt it. It depends on how slow you're eating, how moist the chicken
is, and how well you chew! It took me a while to realize just how much I
was eating compared to other people. It wasn't until I sat down to dinner
with the whole family and looked at my plates compared to theirs! I had
gotten used to my portion sizes by then and thought I was eating a lot!
Don't worry, 1.5 ounces is fine. Keep up the good work!

The post-op instructions from my nutritionist says you can have up to 2 oz.
protein and 1 oz. vegetable for a meal. I am also 2 1/2 wks. out and
usually eat about 2 oz. for a meal. I get really full on that.
