Question:
What kind of testing is done for pre op testing?
What kind of tests are done? I have this book that my surgeon gave me and it says something about having a physical done. During the physical it states something about a rectal and pelvic exam. Do I really need these for the surgery? — tracyr (posted on November 11, 2001)

Presumably you are having these annually anyway? So, have them request
records from the doc who does them. Your ins may not be willing to pay for
these twice in a calendar year. Mine balks if it is ONE DAY too early.

my doc required an upper gi series, a breathing test (i think called PF
test), an EKG, series of blood test, and a gall bladder ultrasound and a
chest x-ray.
