Question:
Has anyone lost approximately 130 lbs and not needed the plast ic surgery?
I am 5'9 and I need to lose 130 - 140 pounds. I am hoping with the right amount of exercise maybe I won't need to have my arms, legs and stomach reduced after I reach my goal weight. Can anyone offer advice? — Erin H. (posted on September 7, 2001)

I agree totally! I was so worried about excess skin and my incision scar
about a year ago...but now, 15 months post-op and 150 pounds lost, it just
doesn't matter! I feel so much better and my overall outlook on just about
everything has improved 100%. Wore a sleeveless gown for my wedding two
weeks ago...had arm skin floppin out all over the place...but hey! That
dress was a size 12!!!!!!!!!!!
I wear my two piece and could care less about that wormy-looking scar. In
fact, it's kinda sexy...because I am!!! The "frat boys" who were
shouting "beached whale" and shooting me with waterguns a year
ago are now trying to pick me up...and I haven't had any plastic surgery.

Hello Erin. I am 1 year post-op, and have lost over 165 pounds. I have
lost all the weight I was hoping for. I also lost a big chunk of it very
quickly (100 lbs lost in the first 3 months + 1 week). I was 42 yrs old at
time of surgery. I have no excess skin at all on my arms, legs, face, or
neck. I do have some stretch marks on my lower abdomen, but it doesn't
"droop over" at all. Also, note I never began any exercise
regimen at all. So, you just never can tell how your body is going to
respond. Good luck in achieving all your goals. Kevin
