Staples questions

Ok I have a few questions. Do all surgeons use staples during surgery? Can they use thread sutures instead? Do they have to be removed later? What metal are the staples made of are they stainless steel? Some people are allergic to all metals except white gold. What are the risks of reaction to the staples? Will you set off alarms at the airport with them? Do they dissolve or rust over time? Does the stomach heal closed or dose it need to remain stapled. Thanks in advance for any help.
