Question:
Does MS Medicaid cover the surgery?

I have called the State Division of Medicaid and can't get an answer. Has anyone in MS had the Bariatric Surgery covered by Medicaid and if so please contact me with any helpful hints @ [email protected]    — Melissa M. (posted on April 26, 2001)

Yes, I know for a fact that MS Medicaid does pay for the RNY because a good friend of mine had them pay. I don't know what they require but, I would imagine that it's like most insurances with the conditions and the BMI. Good luck to you. Write to me if you need further info but I have to say that the doctors usually can tell you whether you will qualify. I am in South MS and the is a Dr. Rose who takes Medicaid for the RNY.
