It happens. This is a well known side affect of this surgery (and other
surgeries!, and other diets!) If you read past through the old archives
you will see it does happen to everyone. It is shocking when it starts, I
know. But it will not last forever, so hang in there. As soon as mine
started, I started on Biotin twice a day. It went as quickly as it came,
almost to the day of month 3 to month 6. So there is hope, and many fine
hats out there!!!!

I have been reading up on having the surgury. One question that was asked
was about hair loss. Several of the answers I read was to use Nioxin
shampoo and conditioner. I live in a small town so havent found any of
this but am going to Wichita. Am willing to try it. Connie

I decided to check this out on myself from before surgery. I started
taking protein before surgery and extra vitamins. Continued with the
protein and besides my post op vites, I which included biotin and selenium
in good size doses, I added hair skin and nails vites, and have been
shampooing and conditioning with the very expensive Nioxin shampoo and
conditioner which does make your hair nice and shiney. I started losing my
hair at 2 months post. I am now at 8 months post and am still losing it.
It has slowed to the point where I am not losing in volume anymore at
least..as what is growing back is making up now, but I did lose
approximately 1/2 of my hair. I have come to the conclusion, that you can
spend a lot of money on trying to prevent hair loss, and if you weren't
going to lose it in the first place...these products worked!! And Vice
Versa. All I can say is, don't freak out about the hair loss, it really
isn't a big deal compared to the weight loss..it does come back, and the
weight doesn't when you do it right! So best wishes to you all!! =)

Nioxin really does work!!! The phone # is: 1-800-628-9890. Cust Svc will
tell you a salon in your area that carries Nioxin. It is worth the expense
to keep your hair!

Hi there!
Yes. Nioxin does help many people. However, for me personally,
it was too strong. Made my scalp a beet red. But maybe my
head is strange (Smile!) What does work wonders for my hair
is a product-range called "Perfect Plus" by Nick Chavez.
It is all natural herbs and flowers and developed by
Nick Chavez (A Native American.) I love the products and
they smell wonderful!! If you want more info. please
send me an email: [email protected]
