Question:
Can anyone give me any meal ideas on post op eating?
I am 9 days post op and am afraid I am not very creative when it comes to making me something to eat. I have the yogurt, jello and applesauce, but you know that gets old fast. Can you guys give me any ideas? I cannot stomach (literally) pureed meats- but I do take my protein daily. Help!! — Cindy K. (posted on January 25, 2001)

I agree with Barb and would like to expand on the creamed soup ideas:
blend or puree your cans of cream of mushroom, cream of chicken, cream of
potato -- if you can, add skim milk to them for more protein. Buy a can of
asparagus tips and blend those in with cream of potato soup -- put cheese
in these soups -- or make your own creamed soups -- like homemade tomato is
very good. Sugar free fudsicles with creamy peanut butter spread on them -
yummy! Mashed potatoes and gravy from Kentucky Fried chicken is good - I
had that the first week. Refried beans from the taco places, if your
surgeon allows it. Congratulations!
