Question:
Dr. S. Ross Fox Patients: Anyone familiar with Dr. Ki Oh?

Hi all. I am researching a surgeon that was referred to me by Dr. Fox's group. My insurance doesn't cover Dr. Fox or his group, but they said they have gotten approval from my insurance company by using an independent surgeon named Dr. Ki H. Oh of Federal Way and having Dr. Fox as the "assisting". Anyone go through Dr. Oh? I looked him up in the database & found only a small number of comments, one very good and the other very bad. I tried to email both with no response yet and the email of the "bad commenter" came back as a bad email so I can't find out what their bad experience was specifically. Anyone who knows of Dr. Oh or has had Dr. Oh & Dr. Fox as a "team" please email me with your opinions of him. THANKS!    — Laura B. (posted on October 7, 2000)

Dr Fox did my surgery 10/5/94 and my husband 10/24/95. He also did my TT 11/95 and my revision 1/2000. Or they BOTH did, to be more accurate. My husband also had to have a surgery not related to WLS and we chose Dr Oh for it for his technical skill. I still think they have the best post-op nutrition plan on earth, as far as heading off the known deficits caused by WLS. Dr Oh is a little more distant in his bedside manner, though he WILL warm up if you work on it. HOwever, he is an excellent technician and much admired by his peers.

I just had my surgery on 9-28-00 with Dr. Fox and Dr. Oh assisting. I must say that his personality is lacking and I did not like the man at all in my office visit but his surgical skills are outstanding and even Dr. Fox said that he is an incredible surgeon and is better than himself on small internal details. Dr. Fox's office had switched my primary surgeon to Dr. Oh one week before my surgery because they need to give him a certain number of cases each month. I was not happy with this (acually I threw a fit) because I do not like the man but I knew that he would be assisting anyways. The staff was wonderful on switching me back to Dr. Fox as primary surgeon immediately. If you are concerned about his ability to do a wonderful job, don't be. But if you are looking for a warm fuzzy personality from him, it won't happen. My surgery went perfect and I have recovered beautifully. I am 10 days post-op and will be returning to work FT tomorrow. If your insurance will cover Dr. Oh than go for it because Dr. Fox will be there anyways. I wish you the best and will keep you in my prayers.
