Question:
What are corn nuts?
I really never heard of them. Also, what is the reason that corn causes pain after eating it. I haven't had it since the surgery, but I'm sure I would like to try it one of these days. Thanks... — Anna R. (posted on June 29, 2000)

I'm 3 months post-op. I wouldn't get anywhere near Corn Nuts unless you
sure you are 100% healed and can tolerate most foods. They are very hard
and crunchy. Chew them up really well. As for corn in general, I've tried
it twice in the last few weeks (I chewed it up really well) and I still
regretted it. It's very hard to digest and pretty much just passes right
through. If your fully on regular foods, give it a try (small amt) to see
if your body likes it. Mine did not.

Korn Nuts are large, hard, deep fried kernals of corn, about the size of
your thumbnail, depending on the size of your hand of course. You can get
them with lots of added flavors like BBQ, chili, ranch, etc. I broke a
tooth on one once and have a hard time digesting them now, I sure wouldn't
want to try one post op.
