Question:
I would like to know if I don't walk what could happen?
I also wanted to know how long should I walk a day? Is walking around the house for a 1/2 hour good? — [Anonymous] (posted on May 19, 2000)

I just saw a Dr. speak about this yesterday. He said it's absolutely
temporary; when weight loss stops, hair loss stops. Not to say hair loss
happens to everyone, because it doesn't. When it does, it's temporary. If
it's going to happen, it will happen.

I suffer from arthritis which is why I really wanted to have surgery to
lose weight so I could begin exercising for the arthritis. I have lost
between 75-80 lbs. in 7 1/2 months. I have not yet exercised formally. My
rheumatologist did not want me to yet as of my las appt. I made an
appointment with him again so I can re-evaluate it. I still have hip pain,
but nothing like it used to be. My weight loss is REALLY slow now and I
know I need to exercise--besides stretching. If you can exercise, I would
not only for the weight loss benefits, but for mental health and to help
tighten your skin. I still have 35 or so lbs. to lose and want to get it
off before I lose the opportunity. Good Luck.
