Question:
Has anybody not had their period since surgery?
My surgery was 13 Jan 2000 and I have not had a period since then! Has anybody had that problem? My doctor said it's because of the rapid weight loss. In the first 2 months I lost 73 pounds but I also had complications. — Patricia G. (posted on April 20, 2000)

I know this is probably silly to ask, but have you had a pregnancy test?
Yes, I know they always do that, but I had my gallbladder removed AFTER a
pregnancy test and never had a period after the surgery. I got the same
answer, shock to your system because of the surgery. The pregnancy tests
came back negative right up until the time the sonogram was done to show
that I was pregnant! I had been about 3 weeks pregnant at the time of the
surgery. I delivered my second daughter in November after the gallbladder
removal in April. This CAN happen. Make sure you aren't pregnant. Good
luck! Barb Trapp

I had mine about five days after surgery and haven't had it since - about 7
weeks. It is the rapid weight loss.

I had my usrgery on 1-4-00 and my cycle always hit on the 17th of every
month like clockwork. But after my surgery I realized that I had not had a
period since Dec. 17, 99 I kept waiting and waiting but nothing happened
even though I was still experiencing cramps. I finally got my period this
month (April) My surgeon re-assured me that this can happen and that it was
just my body freaking out to all the changes. You will get it again...dont
worry!
