Question:
How much sugar grams can an RNY (3feet bypass) ingest before dumping?

It's different for each of us. But if you stick with 6g of sugar per meal,
you should be safe. It's not so much the duping you want to avoid (tho
that's a good target), it's the weight gain or lack of loss assocaited with
ingesting milk and sugar. Check the sugar grams on milk and you'll see
that there is far more than 6g to a serving.

Hmmm... Are you trying to find out the minimum or maximum amount of sugar
you can get away with? Almost everything has "some" sugars in it
naturally ... however, adding sugar or buying things that have sugar or
anything-tose in them is buying weight gain. The rule of thumb I've heard
is to limit meals to 6 grams of sugar TOPS! You'll need to read lables.
And if you want to be successful, you may need to eliminate the word sugar
from your vocabulary and ingredient panel on the products you buy. Best of
luck!

Hi. I can't give you an exact number but for me IT'S NOT MUCH!!! I would
guess that the exact number varies person to person. After just a few bites
of ice cream/cake/pie whatever I start feeling bad. Best wishes to you.

It is my understanding from my surgeon that we can not tolerate any more
than 6 grams per serving. For each person though this may vary. Some
people can not even tolerate 6 grams per serving. But we are told to never
go over the 6.
