Question:
Has anyone found during testing that they have erosion in the esophagus?
How did effect your surgery date. My surgery is scheduled for November 16th. — Marlys O. (posted on September 24, 2005)

Has your doc put you on Rx Prevacid, or prilosec? It will be very
important for you to be on Prevacid for the rest of your life. I had minor
irritation and the prevacid has worked great for me. Also If esophogeal
errosions go untreated they can turn into cancer. Take care. Enjoy the

Im on Nexium due to errosion that they found while I was testing to gain
approval for surgery. You may have to get off of any prescription to have
the H-pilori test which is what I would have had to do but I had not
started the medicine at the time of my test. Also my surgeons nurse said I
would only have to be off the Nexium a couple of days prior to
surgery...that was all. :) The errosion itself shoud not affect your
surgery....in the long run hopefully the surgery will correct any reflux
and stop any further errosion :)
