Question:
can you get this surgery if your on public assistance.
I am on public assistance and was wondering has anyone else had any trouble getting a surgeon. — Tina L. (posted on March 16, 2004)

Well, I wouldn't know. However you can do a search on the doctors in your
area, and ask them if they take the kind of insurance that, you have. GOOD
LUCK!!

Yes you can, You have State Aid Insurance. Your State insurance will
probably pay for it without prior approval.
Call Surgeon in your area or check the list of insurance company on this
website and see which one take you insurance. Good Luck

Yes you can. I am on State Medicasid in Michigan and they approved the
surgery no problem. You have to jump through a lot of hoops for them, but
it is possible. I now have my surgery date on April 28th. Good lick to you
and God Less!

Hi Tina! I live in California and one of my surgery buddies was on MediCal
and had had no problem getting approved. Let's not forget - we're likely
to save our insurance companies (private and public assistance) a TON of
money by being a lot healthier the rest of our lives. A good deal for us
and for them. Best of luck to your! Libby
