Question:
Can your PCP order an EKG and a stress test if you have an HMO?

I have already had an initial appointment with a cardiologist and he ordered an EKG and a stress test. BUT, his office cannot do a stress test until Jan. 28th ( my surgery date is Jan. 27th). When I made the appointment 2 weeks ago I asked if I could be cleared by Jan. 27th and the answer was YES. So, I am stuck, if my PCP cannot order these tests then I have to psotpone my date, so I wanted to see if anyone with an HMO had their PCP do this. Thanks in advance!! Tara    — Tara J.
