Question:
Am I losing too fast?
I start out weighing at 301 pounds and have lost 91 pounds since my surgery in May. Is losing that much weight in five months too fast for a man? — Gene F. (posted on October 28, 2003)

That sounds fine. I had lost 110 lbs at 6 months. I am now down 136 lbs at
almost 9 months (I started out at 304). Great work!

I was told by my surgeon to shoot for 90 lbs. in 90 days. He said is wasn't
uncommon for men to lose 90 in 90. I worried that it was too fast but he
said as long as you get your protein, your vitamins, your water, and
exercise that it was fine.

Easy answer--- no! I dropped a bit more than 80 pounds my first month
(going from over 500 to 414) and than lost over 40 pounds during my second
month. Overall, I have lost 260 pounds in 12 1/2 months. Just try to
maintain a healthy diet (whether through "real" food, glorious
supplements or some combination) and make sure you are supplementing your
diet with calcium and a multi-vitamin. Good luck.
