Question:
Where I can find studies that have been done on long-term health 5-25 yrs after WLS?

It's not clear to me how many post-op years were examined in this article
about one post-op study on life expectacy after gastric bypass, but for
what it's worth, there's this
one:
http://www.facs.org/2002clincon/press/prpope.html
I'm
not sure you could find a useful study that goes back 25 years. I think
the present-day gastric bypass is a very different operation than the
"stomach stapling" operations that were done 25 years ago.

The best info I've found is at the site of the Association of Bariatric
Surgeons, www.asbs.org. The Rational for Surgery section is long,
informative, and cites various studies done. HTH. Nina in Maine

You might also want to look at http://gastricbypass.netfirms.com that has
some very informative studies.

Personally, I would not believe anything that was contained (or linked to)
from Sue Widemark's site (the link that Steve posted). Sue is very
anti-WLS...JR
