Question:
Has anybody gone to Costa Rica for plastic surgery?

Does anyone know of Dr Luis Da Cruz. A plastic surgeon in San Jose Cost Rica? Or perhaps you know of other plastic sergeons in CR Pls let me know Thx:)    — anita H. (posted on July 9, 2003)

My ins company will not pay for a tummy tuck or any kind of "tucks." I went to see a plastic surgeon last week and was told that when insurance won't pay for it, the hospitals want your business and will give discounts and sometimes the more procedures you have the bigger discount you will get (such as tummy tuck & breast lift). They said that the hospital won't charge self-pay like they do the insurance companies ... like, $10 for a box of kleenex, $25 for a razor to shave anything, etc. I'd rather be in my home town and pay rather than go somewhere I don't know about. Exactly how much cheaper is it in Costa Rica?

I have a friend who recently had some plastic surgery done by this physician. My friend was not a weight loss patient - she had a face life and some other minor things done. Before she went to him, she went to several plastic surgeons in Florida and decided to use Dr. Cruz because he was considerably less expensive and came highly recommended. She was very pleased with her experience with him - said his entire staff is very professional and everything is pre-arranged and he does not let you travel around while there or leave until he's certain you're in good shape. She also said all the American Airlines flight attendants go to him for everything from face lifts to tummy tucks, but that he has a great variety of patients who go for all reasons. She was very pleased with his work. Hope this helps you.
