Question:
Has anyone ever frother on just water?
Everytime I drink my water it causes me to froth. What can I do to help me not froth? Any suggestions or information will be greatly appreciated. I am post op five weeks and have lost 41 lbs. — Gene F. (posted on June 19, 2003)

I am still a pre-op, but have been studying my "manual" intently.
One suggestion in there for frothing is to drink hot water as it will help
emulsify the mucus that makes you froth. Hey, sounds painless, so it might
be worth a shot. :)

The previous pre-opt post made me chuckle. Painless, huh? Wait until she
has the operation and she'll understand what happens sometimes. I sometimes
frothed in the past, I don't know what caused it unless it was becaused I
was drinking too fast. If I don't chew everything really really well,
after I eat it feels like a big lead ball is traveling down my intestines
and I am in pain until it moves on down. I am 2-1/2 years post op RNY.

I am 11 weeks out and I have this problem 50% of the time. If I drink with
food it happens, so I don't. Sometimes it does it without food, just water
or liquid. I drink just wait until it passes.

hit me about 4 or 5 weeks out and lasted about 3 or 4 weeks. I never did
find anything that made it better. Wish I had some advice to help, but
assure yourself this too shall pass :>)

I froth very frequtly. If I have too much salt, too much fat, if I take too
big a bite, if I don't chew well enough... It's been a learning experience.
Nothing realy helps. My doc recommended warm/hot tea. Didn't work. I've
even tried popcicles, and shaved ice. The only thing that helps, is just
get it out of your system. I usualy feel like I'm getting rid of my
toenails. I've been told This too shall pass... I'm still waiting....
