Question:
Need to hear from long term post-ops 2 or more years out that have been at a plateau
for months and have had success in loosing again. I am 2 1/2 years post op. Open RNY. I have lost 160 lbs and have another 50 to go. I have not lost in the last 6 months. I know I am eating more that I used be able to so I need ideas to kick this and go back, I also want ideas on how to kick the carb addiction. Thank you — Rebecca F. (posted on May 28, 2003)

Hi Rebecca, I know the carb thing can really be tough to beat, I am in the
process of it .I am 18 months out and would like to keep losing, so the one
thing that ( for some reason is hard for me) I am really trying to get back
to is making myself drink lots water, when I start to think about snacking
on a carb I go for a protien substitute first and that usually gives me the
strength to turn away from the carb snack. the other is to really take the
time and eat breakfest, for some reason this seems to help. Good luck to
you and I know you will be able to make good use of your tool,,,,,,,,

Hi! The only thing that works for me....following Atkins..three weeks on
induction...then adding 5 carbs a week up to 60 carbs a day works best for
me. I go over 60 carbs..I don't lose. Easier said...than done. best
wishes to you ((((hugs)))) and smiles =)))

Rebecca, I am only 15 months out so can't help you, but may I suggest you
go to yahoo groups, ossg-graduates. Everyone there is more than a year out
and there are many long term post-ops there that have great suggestions and
are in the same boat as you. good luck.
