Question:
I'm wondering if anyone knows what this is?
I had surgery 6 days ago (lap) and after about 3 days stopped taking pain meds. 2 days ago i started developing this pain about 3 inches above and to the right of my belly button. It's an "inside" pain. It kinda feels like a mix between my guts are gonna fall out and a runners stitch. It only happens when i lean forward or try to stand from sitting. Thanks, Amber — Amber F. Hi Amber, I am ten months post op, and had a similar pain when I was just
a week or so out. I went to my surgeon, and he said that it was that my
muscles were getting better, and I was feeling the tenderness in my
intestines. I had open RNY, so I was definately concentrating on the muscle
pain the first few days. I hope this helps. I hope you are getting on
well. Good Luck.

I had lap RNY and I had the same thing - the same feeling you describe. I
don't know what it was, but it went away after a few days. Hasn't come
back!

I am almost 4 weeks post-op, and I had the same problem. When I asked the
doctor what it was, he said my muscles were pissed off (yes, he said that
LOL), and they were cramping. He told me to try eating a banana. Some
people dump on them, but I can eat them. It made it stop. YAY! :) You
might ask your doctor if this might be the case, and if you can try eating
a banana. It's a lack of potassium, which causes a lot of muscle cramping.
Potassium and calcium, actually. Hang in there!
