Attention all Members!! I like the new version- however, I would still prefer the massages to archived by date, rather than "click here for the next 25, or 10 messages". I would like to click on a date- and be able to read just those postings. Icons, pixs and fancy fonts take up too much space, I'd rather see text- and more of it... Keep up the good work. It is still an improvement (white background makes it easier to read!)

I would like to see messages arranged by topic - more of a forum board rather than strictly a message board. There are so many posts each day tht quesitons are mixed in with the well wishes and venting posts and its all kind of a mish-mas which is hard to track. I'll be back with some forum "Topic" ideas... Back to my point ~ if it were arranged by topic it would be easier to follow along the conversation and find specifically what you're looking for.

I would like the board to be set up in date order with the ability to reply directly to the post..in a tree thread format. KWIM? Scrolling back 25 at a time and not sure what replies go to what can be confusing. Don't get me wrong, I still love the site and depend on it no matter what the format is! Thanks!

I, too, would like to see a "threaded message board". And, while we are at it, my wish list also includes a truly serchable member database - the ability to search the member list by attribute, either by single category or in combination. In addition to searching by name and location, I'd like to search by BMI, sex, age, etc. If members were allowed to complete individual fields on the profile, we could search for each other based upon by occupation, hobby or any other criteria we might have in common with each other.

The most useful upgrade would be having the boards like nearly all others are today at other websites rembering our user name and password so we dont have to endlessely reenter them. Cookies that arent eaten is how this works, just right around here.

I agree with threading - I rarely use the message board because it is too much of a lump and it's too confusing. I like the way MSN threads their groups. I also liked the format of the board that was given by the previous poster.

I agree with everyone about having a threaded message board or a vBulletin forum. It can get pretty confusing over there, between people asking questions, or posting milestones or just asking for support. I am pretty busy. I can't check it as often as I would like and will sometimes miss the beginning of a hotly debated topic. If it were threaded, we could just click that thread and read every post on that topic instead of scrolling back looking for any mention of the topic.

I agree, the threaded message system would be wonderful. Also, Sometimes I don't post updates to surgery pages because of the endless number of times that you have to enter your password. Thanks for the chance to voice my thoughts. Mary Lynn

I agree with the "date" system. Also, "a lot" of times I bail on answering a certain question or post because everytime you do, you have to re-enter your name and password. This is such an incredible site I would think that there would be a way to "enter" the site only once and then be able to move around without having to stop again and again........but, just my little ole opinion! It would be great to have emotion faces available to use. I've seen (I think the right name is) Plauder smilies. They express a huge range on emotion and can even jump up and down and spin. They are my favorite.

IMHO- I don't like threaded message boards. I use the one here because it ISN'T threaded. I don't use the emoticons. I used the new formats for a couple days, but went back to the old format as most comfortable. I don't need to see topic or smilies with each post. I agree that Iwould like to see a way to post to multiple surgery pages without signing in each time, but it has become automatic now. I read a story over Christmas about a poor boy who walked miles to get a special shell for his teacher. When she received it, she commented how far he had to go to get it. His response was that the journey was part of the present. That's the way I look at signing surgery pages. Someone knows you actually took the time to sign in each time to sign their page. oh well, my two cents.

I have only tried the new message boards twice. I dont like them at all. I am much more comfortable with the old one. That is the one I read several times a day. But, it would be nice when we post to be able to put a smily face on at the end of our message.

I would like to see the faces and to add color to the text would be really cool . I have tried to get color over to the text part and it does not work so if it were an option that would ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

I use faces in everything I do, so I think they would be great to have on here! And colored text would be cool too! It tends to show a personality better, to me anyway. Thanks for asking! :) Danetta

I personally would love to be able to put icons in my chat and messages. About time wls caught up to some of the features other chat mediums have. Looking forward to when we can type in color and in different fonts. I also prefer the long message board format. I can read fast, and want to see it all at once. I don't want to have to dig (as short and medium would force) for the rest of the message. ok, just my humble opinions. ciao for now

I enjoy the long version of the message board. Would love to be able to add color and maybe some emoticons to my posts. What I would like to see the most is a way to save our log on names and password. You all do a wonderful job, even if it stayed the way it is, it would be fine. Thanks for all your hard work!

I like Bob's comment on the computer remembering the password. I'm the only user on my computer so I find typing it in all the time a real pain.

I am really surprised that no one commented on my earlier suggestion about a more searchable member database. I am just curious - wouldn't you all like to be able to quickly find other members who were your age, or your BMI, or your starting height and weight? There really is no end to the data that could be matched so we could get to know each other better. Just MHO - Lori (6/20/02 308/216)

I would love icons. I would love even better not to have to type in password every time. I agree with some of the other posters that people wouls post more often if they could avoid that. I would like icons. (and not haveing to log in all the time!) I just looked at that message page options. The hourglass didn't always bring up a thread. I guess people just posted without linking?

YES, anything to give postings more personnality, and I love your website, but it would be nice to sign in once and not have to re-enter name and password each and every time, for example, if there are 3,4 or five people that need a nice word that are going into surgery, you hesitate sending them a short note because you have to sign in each and every time for each person. I also wish you could fix up your profile without having to be a computer whizerd. I really appreciate some updating to make it more fun to use, again I love your website, but it needs so updating.

I'm not crazy about the new message board for one reason. It only has 10 entries. I like everything else about it, but would like to see it hold 25 entries, so I don't have to keep clicking on the 'next 10' to get more messages. That just seems to take too much time.

I would LOVE to see emoticons on the posts. I like the new format but hate that it only has 10 posts per page. I don't like the "scale" which is all I ever see. Also I would like to be able for the system to remember our login names and passwords without having to type it in every time we post or change pages and want to look at our own profile.

I think the icons are great. As long as they work. I have posted to the message board and click for a icon and it never showed up. Seeing I can not get my pic up it would be nice to have people see how I am feeling. Keep up the great work.

Icons next to our postings is a wonderfull Idea. It will jazz the website up alot by making the website feel alot warmer. Its already a excellent website but Icons diffinitely will spice it up.

Okay, if you are familiar with WestLake hospital, there is a support group that meets every 3rd monday of the month. It's called New Hope, and is sponsered by Dr.Marvin And Dr. Fred Teisenga. Their phone# 708/386-1078, they can help you with directions and such. The group is so comfortable, very open and honest. I highly recommend it.

Oh yes!! By all means let us post and show just how we are feeling with emoticon icons. I think that would be just fantastic. Sometimes we are in a mixed mood and we can show that with more than one icon if you allow us the ability. I know most of the time I am in mixed moods. hehe!

I love the icons! I would also like to have the message board as threads. It is much easier to follow the posts and keep up with the different comments. I like the format of WEBMD. This board is so wonderful and very helpful to have the opinions and advice from those that are in the same situation. Keep up the good work!
