Question:
What do you plan to do when you are at goal?
I was just wondering what everyone plans to do once the weight is off? You know, maybe something you have always wanted to do but couldn't. I am taking scuba lessons. I live in Florida and have always wanted to scuba dive. Now, after losing 105 pounds and being so close to goal, I have decided to take lessons and go for it. Just wondering what everyone else is thinking of doing......... — Kim B. (posted on November 25, 2002)

I have always said that when I reach goal I would take flying lessons or
jump out of a plane (with a parachute of course!). Both kind of pricey,
but even if I have to start saving and wait a bit until after I reach goal,
that'll be fine.

I want to take a Carribean cruise. My husband has been wanting to take one
for several years, but I just didn't want to go looking the way I do. When
the weight is gone, so am I!

I'm not entirely certain what my goal weight is/was. I'm at 185, down from
348. I could live with this. As for what I'm planning to do, I'm thinking
of taking a long bicycle trip. Maybe a trip across Iowa or Nebraska.
Perhaps even one to Chicago, about 1200 miles. Not sure yet.

One of the things I've always wanted to do is hike the Napali trail in
north shore Kauai, Hawaii. I'll be there next week but I'm not near goal
yet and I'm not in the physical shape I need to be in to do a big hike yet
but I'll do what I am able to at this point. But next time I go there, I
want to be able to do it!

I have done it! 3 years ago, I went to six flags in St. Louis with my
teenage children. We got on the coaster Bat Man and it took 3 attendants
pulling and actually standing on the harness that fit over your shoulders
to get it to close. Not only was it extremely physically uncomfortable but
it was one of the most humiliating experiences I've had and my kids were
really hurting for me. I swore when I got the weight off, we would go back
and I would ride that stupid ride. Last month we went, and we rode it 5
times and I had plenty of room to close the harness all by myself! Such an
insignificant thing, but it sure felt good and we had a wonderful time!

My husband lived in Hawaii for 6 years and I would love to visit. We have
talked about going back, but I haven't prusued it because of the weight.
Once it's gone I would love to go.

My goal is to lose 190 lbs. (Now have lost around 158). At the 100 lb loss,
I had HOPED to take Irish Step dancing lessons. Heck I can't find any place
to learn it. :(

First things first - a little plastic surgery. After that, the Caribbean
or Hawaiian vacation where I wear a 2 piece bathing suit to show off the
plastics. I would say shop for clothes but i do that now and HELP, I'm out
of closet space...what's a girl to do?? Guess I'll have to move (good
reason), or perhaps get a divorce (I'm eyeing his closet space). Only
kidding, I think...!!

I agree with most of the other answers - except the throwing yourself out
of an airplane - I have never understood that one! :) But I also want to
add - charity 10k runs and maybe even the Chicago Marathon (someday!), Swim
with Dolphins, African Safari, and re-new my marriage vows with a BIG party
and portraits. (My wedding was a quick little number - and I regret not
getting a photographer!)

I always wanted to learn how to swim, I would love to buy a short leather
jacket that shows my butt., go jogging and maybe run in the Boston
marathon, buy a pair of leather pants, go to the beach and wear a bathing
suit and put a pole in my bedroom and go around it ....lol but all jokes
aside, just to feel normal and healthy is good enough for me.

When I hit the Century Club (I'm close, hovering at 90lbs. right now) I am
"treating" myself to a tattoo. I currently have only 1, Tigger on
my right calf. I now want a beautiful butterfly but can't decide where to
locate it. On the saggy breast? On the shoulder? Decisions, decisions. When
I am at goal I'd love to be able to afford the tummy tuck, bat-wing removal
and boob lift. Once I have those, I would be brave enough to join my DB on
a dream trip to Australia to swim with the great white sharks! Ah heck, I'd
join him even before plastic surgery, let the sharks gnaw at the flapping
skin! LOL

Wow, have so many things I want to do! Just to have the weight off, and to
not hurt anymore is going to be the best thing that has happened to me.
But, I am looking forward to a Caribbean cruise, and also to be able to
ride the rides at any amusement park! Taking the grandkids there next
summer, and my surgery is on Dec. 11 this year, so I think it is very
feasible!! Also planning the cruise with my girlfriend who had her surgery
on Sept 23, as kind of a gift to ourselves for all our hard work! Keep
dreaming up wild and crazy things everyone!!!!!
