Question:
what can I do to lessen the constant frothing from my mouth
I am 7 weeks post op and started this constant frothing at 6 weeks post. It is awful, sometimes it makes me gag & I throw up. Is there anything that will lessen the froth? My doctor says it could last for 16 weeks! — Cheryl J. (posted on October 26, 2002)

hi, i read about this in my surgery guide that was given to me by my
surgeon's office. They say that drinking warm liquid like hot tea helps
thin the mucous so it's not frothing like that anymore. hope that helps!

Besides the hot beverage idea mentioned before, avoiding milky products
help. While it's true that milk doesn't really increase mucus, it does
seem to effect the amount of frothing going on in the stomach. I've heard
mentioned that eating something acidic can help too. Acid helps decrease
the frothing - just don't do a steady diet of this. I ate chopped fresh
tomatoes (without skin), low-acid orange juice (I believe Minute Maid puts
that out),

WHOOPS - posted early lol - Besides the hot beverage idea mentioned before,

chew chew), Canned peaches, salad with lemon juice squirted on it, etc.
Hope this helps!
