I am 9 months post op. I have different things to eat everyday. I don't
measure or count. One thing I do EVERY morning, first thing, is fix myself
a protein drink instead of coffee. I use Designer Whey protein powder.
Tastes JUST LIKE choc. milk. Then an hour or so later, IF I feel hungry, I
will have a yogurt, or maybe an egg, maybe a peanutbutter rice cake with
p-butter on it. Just whatever I feel like having. Lunch I usually take to
work. Sometimes I just take a string cheese. Sometimes a container of
cottage cheese...a Lean cuisine......protein bar...just whatever I feel
like having. Dinner for me is USUALLY a Lean Cuisine or a Healthy Choice
meal. It's usually just me and my daughter home for dinner so I don't cook
very often. I don't snack a lot but when I do, my snacks of choice
are....sunflower seeds, SF Cookies, and watermelon. Sometimes I also have
cheese cubes. I know this may not be an ounce by ounce meal plan, but I am
doing what is working for me. So far I have lost 93 pounds with about 27 to
goal. I try not to *diet* but I do watch what I eat. I think that is out of
habit from so many years of *dieting*. I think as long as you are making
good choices you really shouldn't worry about ounces, cups and tablespoons.
Even if you treat yourself to a cookie a couple times a week. MODERATION is
the key to success with the surgery as far as I am concerned. I DIDN'T have
this surgery to *diet* for the rest of my life. I do follow the basic
rules.....no drinking with meals, concentrate on protein first, take my
supps etc. but I don't weigh and measure. Do what's comfortable for you.
Enjoy the pounds coming off.

I will be 7 months post-op next friday the 27th. and my eating habits are
nothing like the last posters, i am never hungry, and I only eat because I
think I should,I try to eat 2 times a day at least,I try to stay way from
carbs,my calorie level is around 500, I don't count caloiries though,but I
think that's roughly wehre it's at, I eat when I am hungry, which isn't
very often, when I do eat it consists of veggies, raw and cooked, fruits,
mostly grapes, and for protein I eat cheese, imitation crab, I like to
chew on beef jerky, but it bothers me if I swallow it weird huh, I can't
eat steak or chicken unless it's very moist, and then I have to chew, it so
much , it's not worth it, most of these portions are 1 oz. not much more,
Today, my hubby and I went to Golden Corral for dinner, we had the buffet,
I had a little crab meat and lettuce, with ranch dressing mixed in and a
small piece of cod, doesn't sound like much , but it filled me up, I also
never drink with my meals at all, I set the timer for an hour after meals
and don't drink until then.. I have lost 130 pounds and 74 inches and I am
into size 8s and 10s, that's down from 28/30s.. I weigh 139 pounds , down
from 270 pounds

I had surgery about 2 weeks before you and was about the
same starting weight. I was out of control for months on my eating and now
weigh and log everything into calorieking.com. Breakfast is usually
designer whey protein or a serving of Good Friends cereal. Salads weigh in
at 5-6 oz, 3 oz of that being egg & cheese. I can eat a
whole sm. Wendy's chili or a diet tv dinner. I only eat 1/2 sandwich though
I know I could eat more. I eat a whole can of soup (2 cups prepared). Steak
2-3 oz and about 3 oz
of veggies. Whole chicken breat. Trying to limit my snacking to sugar free
fudge cycles and Soy Dream bars.
