Question:
Paying for Psych Evaluation

Can any psychologist and a psychiatrist do this test? I spoke to my insurance company and they will pay for it, but the Dr that my surgeon wants me to go to does not want to bill the Ins company. They want me to pay $517 for this test, I think that the insurance company does not think it is reasonable, that is why they are making me pay in advance for this? Any ideas?    — Cheryl M. talk to your surgeon about this. Yes, any psych can say whether or not you are able to handle surgery. BUT, it sounds like your surgeon has this psych do somehing else for that type of money. Let him know that you can not afford it and you want to see your own psych under your insurance. See what he says.
