Question:
Looking for Northern VA PCP who accepts Care First BC/BS

I just changed insurance companies from Kaiser to Care First BC/BS because my insurance rates at work went up. I haven't yet listed a PCP for myself b/c I would like to find one who supports WLS. Anyone have any suggestions?    — Jamie D. (posted on September 17, 2002)

The best way to tackle this is to find a surgeon in Northern Va (and there are several), go for a consult and ask them for a recommendation on a PCP. Or you can attend a support group meeting in Northern Va and ask the many attendees who their PCP is. Check out www.stapleclub.com and look under meetings. It lists the locations and dates of this group's meetings. The one at Fair Oaks-hundreds show up. Good luck.

Hi, My PCP takes my Care First and supported my WLS. He has at least 3 other patients who've had the surgery and he was encouraging to me. Also, he treats my diabetic husband. My husband goes to specialists for different things but this doctor has already diagnosed them accurately - in other words what my pcp tells my husband is the same thing the specialists say. He's really tops. He's quiet and very professional and his nurse and receptionist are serious but they never let you down. His name is Taeho Kim and he works in the Doctors Building next to Arlington Hospital.
