hi. I currently am taking a pill called BIOSHAPE. There are also MAP and
PROTIVITY pills which are similar. From what I hear these pills contain 4-6
grams of protein. But I have heard that it also helps make the eaten
protein from other food much more effective. I am only 2 months post-op
and haven't gotten my labs done yet, so I cannot tell you whether or not
they have helped me yet. I take 2 a day and count it as 10grams of protein.
And eat 55 grams of protein from other foods. Here are some links where you
can get them if you want: http://www.royal-health.com/bioshape.htm;

When I talked to a couple specialists, also the people at GNC about the
pills available, I was told the way the pills are they don't have enough
protien for post-ops to use for a supplement unless you want to sit around
taking pills all day.(that they only have a small amount of protien per
pill, one lady at GNC said theirs had 2gr per pill) Everyone requires
differents amounts of protien. I am 6ft tall, and my doc requires 80-100
grams of protien for me a day because I am also big boned. so even if I got
50 gr of protien from food a day, I would still have to take a ton of pills
all day. And they cost about the same as some other forms of protein
supplements that may be shakes but the shakes have much more protein and
some even have vitamins and minerals too. So you just have to weigh your
options on this one.
